Who are You Without Your Vices?

Being your best self isn’t easy when your vices are deep in your personality.

I worked as a lifeguard for two summers. The days were long and it could get awfully dull; eyes roaming the still water, wind howling in your ears, skin sizzling under the angry noontime sun. The lifeguard stand was uncomfortable, and we were all sunburnt, aching, and exhausted, turning to whatever we could to take our minds off of the hours of the painful afternoon still to come.
